Wishing everyone a blessed, healthy, and joyous 2010! |
|
|
I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and that all your dreams come true in 2010. We were blessed in the Waynesville area with a beautiful 12 inch snow on December 18th and 19th. Much is still around. Despite losing power for 3 days, my family still enjoyed the time together and the snow. My wife and I ventured out Saturday morning and took the attached photo's so that all of you could see the beautiful snow. Enjoy! Click here to visit the photo page > |
ONE WAY TO INCREASE YOUR 2009 MORTGAGE INTEREST TAX DEDUCTIONHello Everyone, Your tax deductible mortgage interest does make a different at tax time.
You may or may not have considered that you can increase your 2009 tax deductions just by making the January 2010 mortgage payment before the year is over. Then, apply this to your 2009 itemized tax deductions. This can help come April 15th You are not technically paying “in advance” because remember that mortgage interest is paid in arrears ; the January 1 payment takes care of interest that accumulated in December 2009. I am not giving you tax advice. Everyone has their own situation, so be sure and discuss this with your tax professional.
Happy Holidays to all!!!! |

Supply and Demand in Real Estate |

Supply and Demand What will happen in the real estate market over the next six months? (From the Zillow News Release Issued: November 9, 2009) : “The next several months will be critical to the housing market. Previously, we’d been expecting to see increasing foreclosure rates during the real estate market’s slow winter season, a confluence of events that would likely drive inventory up and prices down. But now, with the extension of the $8,000 first-time homebuyer tax credit and a new $6,500 credit for some repeat homebuyers, we could see a bump in demand that could partially offset the increased supply of foreclosed homes on the market. The credits are likely to bring continued stabilization in prices over this period, versus the price declines that we almost certainly would see otherwise. Whether this stabilization will be sustainable after the tax credits expire, however, is yet to be seen. Some of the demand that we are buying with tax credits we are also borrowing from the future, and will likely have to pay for later in the form of weaker-than-normal demand.”
However, I don’t think the tax credit extension/expansion will have much affect on the upper tier homes in the market. We must be strong with our advice with these sellers when discussing price. |

Fall Is Here In the Mountains |

Fall Is Here In The Mountains You can see the trees have started to change in color. So if your planning your trip to the mountains, the next three weeks will be beautiful. We have felt a pickup in real estate as the media has said. However, the pickup is from sellers reducing their prices to attract the buyer and sell their property. This is giving the idea to more property owners that the market has improved now is the time to sell. Haywood county has more property for sale than ever. There are many predictions about the market and one fact for sure is that it will take some time to absorb the inventory in the market. On a brighter note, I am determined to help my sellers succeed in this market. A couple of ways that I am servicing my sellers is by print advertising and placing their properties on Realtor.com and 26 other top websites. |
